Earn A Healthcare Degree With Minimal Time and Money

Healthcare jobs are one of the fastest-growing employment sectors right now. It’s a field where good pay and benefits are more of the norm than a bonus, not to mention job security. However, many of these career paths require higher education. Earning a degree can be a daunting obstacle for many reasons.

Medical and nursing degrees can indeed be time-consuming and costly, but there are many other opportunities out there that won’t take their toll on your time or bank account. Do you want to obtain a healthcare degree with minimal time and money? Read on ahead for helpful hints that will help you get started. Learn about the types of degrees you can obtain to further your medical field career including the available time and cost requirements.

Degree Benefits

Shutterstock

Various degrees and certificates are obtainable to get your foot in the medical field door. Whether you’re searching for a clear path that’s quick and affordable as a means of starting a career, or you didn’t have the grades required in high school to go to a traditional four-year school, there are still many options available to you. The best part about earning a healthcare degree is that these options can have a far lower cost than a doctorate or nursing degree program.

Types of Healthcare Degrees

Shutterstock

Very marketable degrees are available in the healthcare field. The jobs you can get after getting your degree or certificate are generally in high demand, so you should have no problem securing employment after finishing the program. It’s a rare sight to see someone who holds one of these degrees and can’t find gainful employment in their chosen field.

What careers can you pursue after gaining one of these degrees with minimal time and monetary input? You can become a massage therapist, public health worker, medical office assistant, dental assistant, medical billing and coding specialist, x-ray technician, or clinical medical assistant. You have a plethora of opportunities in healthcare administration as well as counseling studies, plus many others. With these programs and degrees, there are different levels of schooling that you must complete. However, some require a certificate or an Associate’s degree, and others will demand a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or even a Doctorate degree.

The Cost of a Healthcare Degree

Shutterstock

In general, the cost of one of these healthcare degrees or certificate types pales in comparison to medical or nursing school. You can even do some online instead of in person. For example, yearly tuition at some top-ranked online institutions to obtain a B.S. in Professional Studies – Health Administration has an average annual cost between $4,200 and $4,500. Some state universities even offer the program at a similar rate.

In comparison, an average, in-state medical school program can set you back roughly $40,000 a year, or if you decide to pursue your degree out-of-state at a college or university, those costs could reach upward of $60,000 annually. The cost of private schools can rival even those of these public universities. That’s quite the astronomical cost difference. Therefore, it only makes sense to pursue one of these other types of degrees or certificates for many people.

A Look At The Top Luxury Sedans Currently on The Market

There are a few traits which help in describing a luxury vehicle. For one, the car has to be aesthetically pleasing to the eye. These are the types of cars one loves to show off to family and friends. Secondly, the luxury has to exist within the interior of the vehicle. It must possess an opulent presentation — both in terms of the materials as well as the technological components. Lastly, it must be a car rooted in state-of-the-art safety measures.

Lincoln MKZ

The Lincoln MKZ is one of the most affordable luxury Sedans on the market. With a starting price of $35,995, the MKZ has three configurations (Standard, Reserve 1, Reserve 2). Even nicer, the hybrid model comes at no extra charge. From an engine standpoint, lower models come with a respectable 2.0-L 4-Cylinder. The most expensive model has a 3.0-L V-6 under the hood. In other words, the MKZ certainly packs a punch when accelerating.

The car prides itself on having a sleek look. This also includes the inner cabin, where the touches are modern yet not complicated. Lastly, one of the strongest components of the MKZ is its technological features. Not only are they improved from past models, but they’re also on the higher end when compared to its competitors. Another great option to consider from this family is the highly acclaimed Lincoln Continental.

Lexus ES 350

Lexus is widely respected as luxury personified. This car manufacturer is always on the cutting-edge when it comes to crafting a beautiful vehicle. The ES 350 continues on with this tradition in a big way. Starting at $39,750 and getting up to $44,285, the ES 350 is a leader within the class as it pertains to power, the smoothness in ride quality, safety features, and handling capabilities.

The ride itself is quite tranquil in nature. Along with excellent handling construction, one can cruise down the open road or around bends seamlessly. Technologically, it rates out similarly with many in its class. Essentially, the ES 350 is an incredibly solid vehicle across the board.

Acura RLX

Acura has put out a classy vehicle when it comes to the RLX. Starting at $54,900 and approximately capping at $61,900, this vehicle holds a tremendous amount of value. For one, the interior cabin is as big and roomy as one will find within the class. It makes for highly enjoyable trips. Additionally, the ride itself is very quite and peaceful.

Additionally, Acura worked tirelessly in making this car convenient for the user. This involves a heavy emphasis on safety measures, and also an easy-to-use tech center. However without question, the strongest aspect of this car appears to be its space within the cabin.

BMW M4

All BMWs provide a unique driving experience and world-class design. This high end luxury car is reasonably priced starting just over $69k. Powered by a 3.0L 6-cylinder engine putting out 425 HP, the M4 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.4 seconds; this BMW provides an aerodynamic choice for a reliable sedan. Inside the engine of this sedan is a high-pressure injector that injects fuel in 0.27 seconds; this allows for precise control of combustion and efficient driving.

Ranking The Best and Worst Volkswagen Cars Of 2021

Volkswagen is one of the most iconic automakers in the world, but the last couple of decades have been a bit rough for the company. Fortunately, the German automaker is experiencing a resurgence and its 2021 models are some of the most promising in some time.

With every change in the automotive industry, a new segment of the vehicle is going to dominate, and in this case, it’s the crossover. Volkswagen initially offered the Toureg in the early 2000s, but now their selection of crossovers has been vastly expanded. Volkswagens drive with a sense of luxury and precision that you won’t find in rivals. We took a look at the best and worst Volkswagen models of 2021.

VW Golf
via: VW

Golf GTI (Best):

The Golf GTI is sort of a unique throwback when you think about a performance car. The original hot hatch is now one of the oldest nameplates on the market and remains a stellar value. The Golf has a roomy interior with a fair amount of cargo space and is available in a four or two-door option. Performance is where the Golf GTI excels. The model drives unlike anything else on the market, and for its price, you can’t go wrong.

VW Arteon
via: VW

Arteon (Best)

Big, beautiful, and in control are three words that sum up the Arteon. If you look at the car from the outside, you’ll see something different than the Passat. The Arteon is a beautiful example of what Volkswagen still does right, and the performance of the car matches. You might almost mistake this for an Audi, with a connected driving experience that brings you closer to the road. Of course, the interior qualities are very high-class as well, which bolds well for the exceptional build quality.

VW Jetta
via: VW

Jetta (Best)

Few cars have been more iconic than the Jetta has in the last 30 years, and the car continues to make a name for itself. The upmarket interior of the Jetta has always propelled the car above the Civic and Corolla in terms of quality. Performance comes from the turbocharged four-cylinder engine that has been the pinnacle of the lineup for a decade.

Tiguan
via: VW

Tiguan (Worst)

When the Tiguan hit the market, it was a welcomed addition to the Volkswagen lineup, slotting in below the much larger Toureg. For all intents and purposes, the Tiguan is a well-rounded crossover, but the exterior styling and the interior have become outdated when compared to other cars on the market. Reliability ratings have been less than favorable for the car as well, which deters some buyers.

VW Passat
via: VW

Passat (Worst)

The Passat is riding on an outdated platform and Volkswagen can no longer deny it. In addition to the built-in rivalry from the Arteon, the Passat has a lot of competition to overcome. Not to mention the fact that consumers have all but moved away from passenger cars in favor of crossover vehicles. The Passat is a car that’s better left passed over, and if you truly want one, you can wait on the revision in a year or two.

Top Jeep Models On The Market For 2021

Jeeps have been a fixture in our lives for decades, creating iconic nameplates like the Cherokee and Wrangler that resonate with outdoor enthusiasts. Initially an off-shoot of the AMC automotive company, the Jeep brand has long since become its own entity with an identity much different from the rest of the Chrysler lineup.

Jeeps are iconic and manage to cultivate a brand image that sticks with the cars and owners. The 2021 lineup is going to be a bit different from the lineup that you see today as Jeep moves into a more premium focus in the segment. Learn more about the best Jeep models available for 2021 right here.

Jeep Grand Wagoneer
via: Jeep

Jeep Grand Wagoneer

The Grand Wagoneer was the original luxury SUV long before the Cadillac Escalade was a thought. The new full-size SUV is will bring a lot of new shoppers back into Jeep showrooms. If the Tahoe is the king of the hill, the Grand Wagoneer is going to give it a run for the money. Jeep is going to incorporate a lot of new luxury features into the Grand Wagoneer, even possibly including the trademark exterior wood trim. Luxury features will be abundant and the Grand Wagoneer will tread into luxury SUV territory.

Jeep Grand Cherokee
via: Jeep

Jeep Grand Cherokee

The Jeep Grand Cherokee has been the hallmark of the Jeep lineup for almost 30 years now. With its luxury appointments and spacious interior, the Grand Cherokee is quite the catch. The price tag has increased dramatically over the years and the Grand Cherokee is treading into luxury SUV territory. But that’s alright because the Jeep brand, in general, has become a premium aspect of the automotive industry. With special renditions of the Grand Cherokee such as the SRT model, you can’t go wrong with everything the model offers.

Jeep Wrangler
via: Jeep

Jeep Wrangler

There is no doubt that 2021 is going to be an interesting year for the Jeep brand. The Wrangler is going to get a V8 Hemi for the 2021 model year, which is a long-overdue addition to the line. With the new Bronco on the horizon, Jeep is going to become more competitive than ever in an attempt to maintain customer loyalty. While the overall design of the Wrangler has remained the same for two decades, there are subtle improvements in the SUV. The new interior is more refined than ever and the new hardtop is easier to remove in the summertime.

Jeep Renegade
via: Jeep

Renegade

The Renegade was a unique Jeep model that hit the market a few years back, and it was well-received. A much better option than the compact crossover-based Jeeps before it, the Renegade is based on the same platform as the Fiat 500x. Interior-wise, drivers are greeted with an upmarket design that only bolsters the comfort of the car. Rear seat volume is more than adequate for four full-size adults to go on a road trip, and cargo space isn’t bad either. Sadly, the Renegade isn’t a trail-rated model and you won’t be taking it off-road anytime soon. Nonetheless, if you want to enjoy a Jeep, the Renegade is a great choice.

Driven: 2021 Nissan Rogue SV Review

Nissan has long been the third wheel when it comes to the compact crossover market. Honda and Toyota have dominated this segment for decades with the CR-V and the Rav4. However, the Nissan Rogue has been making inroads since its debut and the new model is a pleasant revision of a valuable offering.

The Rogue doesn’t disappoint when it comes to features or performance, and with Nissan in the middle of a corporate restructuring, the Rogue is bringing out all the stops. The newly-revised Rogue might not be groundbreaking, but it’s a great value for crossover shoppers who want something different.

2021 Nissan Rogue
via: Nissan

A Different Kind of Crossover

The Rogue is following in line with the rest of the Nissan lineup, creating a sporty type of car. The exterior styling is very similar to the revised Altima and Maxima models, which bodes well. Sharp lines have become commonplace for the Nissan lineup since the early 2000s. The exterior of the Rogue is a lot different than what you’d expect from a crossover SUV, but it does the car justice for the price. The ride height is just right and the standard alloy wheels are just the right fit for the Rogue. The handsome front fascia also helps things out.

2021 Nissan Rogue
via: Nissan

A Revised Interior

Nissan is focused on leading the pack when it comes to interior refinement, and the Rogue is no different. The interior is decidedly upmarket while also offering a plethora of luxury. The infotainment center is large enough, and the stereo system has crystal clear audio quality. The panoramic sunroof is a nice touch that gives the Rogue an open-air feeling that most crossovers offer. Seat quality is much better than the previous generation because cheap materials are kept to a minimum in this interior.

2021 Nissan Rogue
via: Nissan

Safety and Technology is Standard

The Rogue has been Nissan’s standard-bearer for introducing the general public to the brand in the important crossover race. Safety is an important aspect of any crossover and the HD Intelligent Around View Monitor (I-AVM), which makes parallel parking in the city a breeze. Blind-spot detection also enhances the driver’s ability to judge driving situations, and in the end, the quality of the car makes drivers feel safer. The added benefit of the updated traction control system means that you can take the Rogue places that a lot of crossovers can’t go. You’re not going to tangle with the Jeeps, but you can go on a family road trip this Winter.

2021 Nissan Rogue
via: Nissan

Frugal And Well Appointed

With crossovers dominating every aspect of the automotive industry, every automaker is trying to jump on the bandwagon. With the Rogue, you get a car that won’t win any races but provides frugal and stylish transportation. With plenty of power and updated technology to wow even the most condescending driver. As Nissan continues to evolve into a new kind of car company, the Rogue is going to be at the forefront through offering value and substance for a great price.

How To Become A Trucker: The Complete Step-By-Step Guide

The trucking industry is a vital part of America’s economy. Nearly every good consumed in the United States is loaded on, shipped, and arrives on a truck. The trucking industry offers a luxury that many other industries don’t have. Drivers are in high demand. There is a shortage of qualified CDL holders, and employers compete to hire experienced drivers.

If you’re searching for a field with a plethora of opportunities, trucking can offer it. Unlike many other careers, rather than spending money on college, you partake in specialized schooling. There are specific qualifications to become a qualified trucker. Keep reading to find out how to become a trucker step by step according to KTEN.

Step 1: Learn Your State Requirements

Shutterstock

Once you have become educated on what a trucker is, you will need to meet the requirements. There is a multitude of qualifications to become a trucker, including physical and legal. The majority of states require truckers to be at least 21 years old and eligible to work in the United States. However, each state has its own set of qualifications, so it’s essential to verify in the state you wish to pursue your career. For most companies, at minimum, truckers need to have a high school diploma or GED. Although it shouldn’t need to be said, truckers must also have a clean driving record.

Step 2: Attend Driving School

Shutterstock

You must meet the minimum required qualifications in your state before you can move onto the next step which is truck driving school. Although truckers do not require a college education, they are required to attend a truck driving school. When choosing a truck driving school, you’ll want to do your research. Drivers will mostly need a local school that has solid credentials. Some schools offer varying programs depending on your end goals, so be sure to select a school that meets your specific needs. Trucking school requires tuition upfront, but some may offer assistance. In general, trucking school includes a combination of both classroom and hands-on training. It will be what prepares you to sit for your commercial driver’s license (CDL) test.

Step 3: Get a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

Shutterstock

As you near the end of trucking school, you’ll take a state exam to obtain your CDL. All truck drivers must carry commercial driver’s licenses (CDL). The required state exam consists of a written test and a road test. To prepare yourself for the exam, you should visit your local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to obtain a CDL manual. The written piece tests your knowledge of trucking laws, procedures, and safety measures. After, you will move onto the road test, which requires driving a commercial vehicle while a licensed examiner rides with you. Operating a commercial vehicle requires unique endorsements that can be clarified by your local DMV.

Step 4: Find a Job

Shutterstock

Once you have your CDL, you can begin your job search. Many companies are in high demand for truckers. Due to this high demand, many trucking schools assist in finding careers for their students. You can choose to look on your own or take advantage of this resource to get your foot in the door. You will want to research the company’s reputation and determine what their pay and benefits look like. Some schools provide national job placement, so if you have been itching to move, this would be a great opportunity.

Step 5: Learn More About the Company

Shutterstock

Finding a company is the first step, but what comes next? After seeing the right company fit for you and your goals, you’ll attend their training and orientation. Almost all companies require new employees to attend orientation, which covers information about the company, including their mission and values. Going to orientation is generally on-the-job training. You may begin by tagging along with experienced drivers to understand their process and what is expected of you. Due to the safety concerns and similar to most jobs, you may have to take a drug test and physical exam during onboarding.

Medicare And Mattresses: Do You Qualify For A New Adjustable Bed?

Medicare can be one of the most difficult health insurance coverages to traverse. There are so many rules, requirements, and hoops to jump through that the entire process can seem daunting. From coverages, copays, and allowances, understanding what is and isn’t allowed in your plan can be a daunting task for even the most well-versed person.

There are also many not-so-known benefits included in Medicare. One of those benefits is that you can get a new mattress if you qualify according to Everyday Consumer. Keep reading to learn more about how you can use Medicare to get a new bed depending on your situation.

Durable Medical Equipment Coverage (DME Coverage)

Shutterstock

Though getting a new mattress through Medicare is not something that every enrollee will qualify for, through Medicare Part B, and more specifically Durable Medical Equipment Coverage, you could use your insurance to help you sleep better at night. Durable medical equipment is equipment that helps patients with tasks, activities, or functions necessary for everyday life. To get Medicare coverage for your new mattress, it first must qualify as DME. That requires a prescription from your doctor. Moreover, you have to meet the requirements that Medicare has set forth.

To qualify, there are several requirements you must follow. The mattress can only be in your own home. You will not qualify if you do not have an injury, sickness, or medical reason for the mattress. Finally, you need to select a durable mattress for repeated use because it should last for at least three years.

Types Of Mattresses That May Be Covered

Shutterstock

Not all mattresses will meet the stringent requirements that Medicare will cover. It’s imperative to know what kind of bed may or may not be covered before you start shopping. For Medicare to pay for them, they must be useful in your daily functions and serve medical functionality. A Google search for Medicare-approved sellers will display many retailers that specialize in medical equipment. Purchasing your new bed or equipment through one of these suppliers can reduce your overall costs.

Three major kinds of mattresses and beds will qualify through Medicare: pressure-reducing overlays, pressure-reducing beds, and pressure-reducing mattresses. Once your claim for DME is approved, you will be responsible for 20% of the total Medicare-approved cost of the equipment; your Medicare Part B deductible will apply to this cost, and you will then pay the rest of the expense.

Shopping For Adjustable Beds and Mattresses

Shutterstock

Once you’re ready to shop, you need to decide between an adjustable bed and an adjustable mattress. An adjustable mattress is one where you can control the softness or firmness of the mattress itself. On the other hand, an adjustable bed is one where you can adjust the base into different positions from both the head and foot of the bed. Whether you’re looking to shift your support level or to manipulate your positioning in bed will determine which type of bed frame and mattress is right for you.

Below is a list of the best adjustable beds and mattresses available on the market. Regardless of which you go with, if you need any help or clarification on whether or not you could qualify for DME coverage for a new mattress or bed through Medicare, you can review your plan and contact your doctor. You can find more information by visiting Medicare.gov.

The Top-Rated Subaru Models For 2021

The Subaru lineup is an ever-evolving mix of passionate automotive design and research. The company knows its audience well and the company philosophy reflects that. For the 2021 model year, things are going to be changing as the lineup has gotten quite the refresh.

Although the crossover boom has affected all automakers, Subaru is still sticking to what makes a person buy a new Subaru. This commitment to quality and design is what separates the carmaker. We looked at what the 2021 model year has to offer for potential Subaru shoppers.

2021 Subaru Forester
via: Subaru

2021 Subaru Forester

The Forester has always been that sort of quirky SUV drivers couldn’t help but like. As the company continues to move into the future, the Forester has changed. The next-generation model continues to build on Subarus’s commitment to safety and quality, and thus standard features include responsive LED headlights, high beam assist, and rear seatbelt reminder. In addition to those upgrades, the 174-horsepower 2.5-liter Boxer engine does an excellent job of propelling the compact UTE to its destination. Interior volume has also increased dramatically from the previous generation.

2021 Subaru Outback
via: Subaru

2021 Subaru Outback

Subaru has been doing a comprehensive remodel of their brand identity and the Outback is no exception. The wagon was long in the tooth and the company gave it a full-on redesign last year. The interior has become more driver-centric, with an interactive infotainment center and current tech throughout the car. A panoramic sunroof helps things out and gives the wagon a much larger feeling inside, and the AWD capability means that you can still go anywhere. Safety features include steering responsive LED headlights, passenger seat belt reminder, and a rear-seat reminder. The Outback might look a lot different, but this is still the same wagon that Subaru fans have grown accustomed to.

2021 Subaru Crosstrek
via: Subaru

2021 Subaru Crosstrek

The Crosstrek was an interesting proposition when it was introduced because it treads very lightly on Forester territory. Nevertheless, the car has managed to be a hot seller for the company without impeding the sales numbers of the Forester. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is not only potent but it’s also fuel-efficient. The 8.7 inches of ground clearance means that you can take the Crosstrek on just about every trail, but you still get the comfortable ride of a car. The durability of the Crosstrek coupled with the versatility has made it a standout part of the current and future Subaru lineup.

2021 Subaru Ascent
via: Subaru

2021 Subaru Ascent

Subaru is headed back into uncharted territory with the Ascent, a full-size SUV offering. Although the model has still competition on the market right it has beautiful exterior styling and a reasonable starting MSRP. The third-row seating is a major advantage over the other crossovers that are currently in the lineup. The 2.4L turbo four-cylinder is rated at 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. This is more than enough power for the modern family who is trying to get out of town for the weekend. The Ascent also has the plethora of standard safety features that you’ve come to expect from Subaru.
